The NEW Intel Reader is a hand held device made for blind and low vision individuals. It’s also good for those who suffer from various forms of reading comprehension like dyslexia. All you need to do in order to work this device is just point, shoot and listen.This mobile device allows students to take pictures of hard copy printed material and thereafter have the words read back to them audibly. The audio play back can be heard at various speeds for those who have more experience listening to playback messages (See video below for an example).

The Intel Reader will increase freedom and confidence for those who cannot read well. Users will no longer have to regularly ask for help when reading menus, letters, signs and books. This device can dramatically improve day to day life for those you have trouble reading.

When users need large amounts of text captured, like a newspaper for example. The Intel Portable Capture Station is available. This stand (sold seperatly) has a clear film that holds down large printed materials. It also has an adjustable neck holding the camera (Intel Reader) high above the printed material. This station is portable in the sense that it folds into a brief case.
