Next Transition Skills System Package
Next Transition Skills System fulfills requirements for spending ARRA funds on providing quality transition programming, professional development for teachers on the use of data to inform and improve instruction as listed IDEA Part B and Title I, Part A.   The Next program also addresses the IDEA Part B and Title I, Part A reform of making progress toward rigorous college- and career-ready standards and high-quality assessments that are valid and reliable for all students, including English language learners and students with disabilities.

Next Transition Skills System is a district-wide solution that simplifies the process of identifying, teaching, and tracking essential transition skills over multiple years, while meeting state standards and federal guidelines for providing transition education to students with autism spectrum disorders, mild, moderate, and severe disabilities.   Next clearly defines transition skills goals and objectives unique to each student’s disability needs, providing a consistent structure for transition programming across all disability categories.

The program provides a collaborative model of transition planning with all IEP team members and includes all the forms, goals, activities, and strategies that special education administrators, transition coordinators, job coaches, and teachers need to build and maintain a quality transition program designed to prepare students for a bright future.
